The During the period from 1945 to 1960, the University trained a lot of scientific staffs at the college level and intermediate level in the fields of transport, hydraulics, post office, architecture to serve the national salvation resistance and the country’s development. The University was formally named On April 27th 1990, its campus 2 in November 15th is considered to be the traditional day of the University. At present time in 5/2010, the UTC has a total of 1053 staffs, of which 781 are lecturers including 51 professors and associate professors, 125 doctors and scientific doctors, 324 masters in charge of managing and training 30,000 undergraduates and post-graduates. There are 6 specialized faculties and 3 institutes in UTC: Civil Engineering Faculty; Mechanical Engineering Faculty; Transport-Economics Faculty; Electrical Electronic Engineering Faculty; Information Technology Faculty; Basic Sciences Faculty; Institute of Science and Technology in Transport Construction; Institute of Science and Environment; Institute of Transport Planning and Management; . The UTC has diverse training programs, including 68 disciplines for graduate degree, 16 disciplines for master degree and 17 disciplines for doctor degree. The Together with the national renovation, implementing the resolution of Vietnamese Party and Government, the University has made great renovation in training, scientific research, development of human resource and material facilities. In the promotion of its 60-year tradition, the objective of the University up to 2020 and the following years is to become multi-discipline university of technology and economics at high level and quality; the leading university in the national transport and communications field; the great and prestigious center for scientific research and technological transfer in order to gradually integrate into the regional and global countries.
